INCHERS: Beginners

The INCHERS program is the perfect first STEP in your child's swimming journey. Through fun activities and positive reinforcement, we build a strong foundation for swimming success.

Your child will learn more than just how to swim on their own; they will be exposed to the importance of pool safety and develop a healthy respect for the water. We combine essential swim skills like breath control, kicking, and floating with safety knowledge, all in a playful environment that ignites a lifelong love of swimming.

Important for New Students

First time with us? Register for STEP 1. Your child will receive an automatic placement evaluation during their first lesson to ensure they're in the correct STEP.

Can already swim on their own? Call us at (919) 243-1208 to schedule a placement evaluation in a higher level.

Average Progress: With consistency, most children complete each STEP in 16-18 lessons (about 4-5 months). Every child learns at their own pace!

What Your Child Will Learn

STEP 1: Water Readiness - Introduces foundational skills including balance, buoyancy, and breath control.
STEP 2: Water Safety Skills - Builds water safety skills through short-distance swimming, survival floating, and learning what to do after a fall.
STEP 3: Independent Water Safety - Students build independence through longer swims, rolling for air, and jumping in & returning to safety.
